A Thrifty Centerpiece.

I've always struggled with centerpieces for the bar and dining room table.
I love pretty but I also need practical.

Do you see what I see? Besides ugly? I picked these up cheap.
I liked the size and I instantly knew what I would do with them.

I took them apart, sanded, and painted. Then I nailed them back together.

Do you see the pretty? And the practical?
My daughter bought me these little bird salt and pepper shakers.

I love the size of these boxes. They don't take up much room
and they're easy to move whenever we start our baking.

The red and white really make it festive.

I used the other one on the dining room table.
Can you believe I picked up this beautiful jar for 2 bucks?

I look forward to changing this up season to season.

 I hope you were inspired!
Thank you for stopping by Thrift My House.

  1. Beautiful ideas! You really can have fun mixing it up for each season. Awesome deal on your glass jar!

  2. You saw something in those little boxes that I never would have even thought of! Sooo cute!

  3. I'm alwqays inspired by you Sherry! I love your style. I really like how you combined pretty and practical. Those trays are awesome! I love transforming something that others would think is hideous into something beautiful. Hope you have a blessed and beautiful week! I'm home sick today and taking advantage of being lazy...:)

  6. Once again, you have blown me away by your creativty :) I love how you repurposed the little boxes.

    Hugs to you!

  7. Pretty, pretty centerpieces, Sherry! Love the way you used those boxes to corral your pretties that make it easy to move. That bottle is a terrific find.

  8. Like they say: from trash to treasure! Those boxes are perfect, and I'm sure will be used in many ways all throughout the year! Enjoy! Blessings, Cindy

  9. I love your centerpiece.

I have to move our centerpiece off of the table during meals because Steve doesn't like anything between us to distract him. A box is a great idea because I can just lift up the entire thing.

    Happy Christmas

  10. Love your makeover Sherry. These are perfect for displaying your treasures and easy to move out of the way when you need the space for preparations and more. I always create mine easy to move too. What a great find. You are always an inspiration.

  11. I love, love, love them! Awesome transformation Sherry. Pretty and practical indeed.

  12. I did not see ugly. I love those little birds, and I'm totally crushing on that peppermint garland around that dish! You are so clever! Now what did you do with what was inside those 3 boxes???

  13. Wow Sherry! Good job. They really look pretty!

  15. That is one fabulous centrepiece! I love the sweet little birds, and the box transformation is beautiful. What a great idea that the boxes are portable. Perfect!

  16. You've got vision!! I would not have seen those pretty white trays as center pieces from the original thrifted pieces. Both cp are very pretty. Love that glass jar and what's most special is the little birds gift from your daughter!

  17. So pretty Sherry !
