Slipcover Review and My Christmas Plate Wall

The red and white Christmas decor is everywhere in blogland.
I personally LOVE it! And I've been very thrifty incorporating it into my home this year.
The plates and shelf are thrifted.

I made this red and white garland.

I. Love. White. Plates.

Candy canes and Christmas balls in dollar tree glasses.

I wanted to share my thoughts on this Overstock slipcover.
I picked it up last year, less than 50 bucks. I love the look of white and decided to try it. I wasn't expecting too much for the price and it serves the purpose. I've washed and dried it many times. It doesn't appear to have shrunk any.

Here are a few shots of the fit. When I'm looking to buy something, I like to read reviews from people who've actually tried the product.

By the time it's covered with pillows and throws, it's all good.

It's in the wash as I type this because a certain 12 year old spilled orange juice on it.....
yep, it serves the purpose.
 I hope you were inspired!
Thank you for stopping by Thrift My House.

  5. I love your plate wall Sherry. It's so pretty. I've often wondered about slipcovers. My couch in the living room is a floral and so outdated... it really needs to go, I was thinking of painting it, but maybe a slipcover will do the trick. I always had the impression they were too expensive for this thrifty girl, but maybe not.

  14. That last photo could have been from our old house, but I never thought to put a sofa in that spot by the stairs.

I use red and white all year round. It works for Christmas, Valentines, and all the patriotic holidays.

  17. Your garland is just so pretty Sherry. You really need to come to my house to decorate for me. You have such a knack at putting stuff together. I wonder if overstock ships to Canada? I need a slipcover for my loveseat but I don't want to give up my first born for it. It looks amazing!

  18. They do ship to Canada! Now I am going to have to get out the old measuring tape. I sure hope I pushed the publish button on my first comment or this comment will kinda look out of place!

  21. So so pretty, I want to make a slip cover I can't find white anywhere I've been looking for a few months. Maybe I'll get around to it this year

  22. how did you attach the doors to the wall; I really like the white! It does not look like doors hanging on a wall. did you leave hinges on for "looks"? Did you use L brackets to hold the doors together so they did not open ? thanks
