Decorating Around the TV in the Bedroom

Hey guys! Today I want to share with you how I made the TV disappear in my bedroom. I've always struggled wondering what to do around, above, under, beside, ... the stupid TV.

I love chalkboards so why not have one in the bedroom. I had this old piece of plywood that used to be the back of a bookcase we used to have in the living room. I painted it with chalkboard paint and left the edges raw so that they would mimic trim.

After applying 3 coats of paint, I hung it above the dresser, behind the TV.

Notice how the TV isn't the focal point anymore... Yay!

I added hooks and little baskets that I've collected from the thrift store.

I love how this looks. What do you think?
I hope you were inspired!
Thank you for stopping by Thrift My House.

I have hear that if you want something to disappear, you should draw attention to it . . . that's what you did and it works! Kind of like what they say about if you want someone to hear you, whisper :) I am so happy to see you back posting, because your blog is one of my very, very, very favorites. 27. Well, we just moved a TV into the Master Suite, The Man wants one in there and I've been wondering how to make it disappear, while still enjoying that we have it in there to watch. This is a wonderful suggestion, it does virtually disappear! Thank You for Sharing! Blessings from the Arizona Desert... Dawn... The Bohemian
